Abstract

The complementarity of international tourism and air transport, as the leading industries in modern conditions, is manifested in different domains. The aim of this paper is to examine the interdependence between the development of international tourism and air transport by means of undertaking a comprehensive analysis of the available data. The methods used in this paper include comparative analysis, correlation analysis and descriptive statistics. The research results indicate the existence of a high positive correlation between the number of international tourists and the number of passengers in international air transport both at the global level and the level of analysed regions.
