The importance of manifestations for developing tourism in Belgrade

Abstract

Event tourism is an alternative or selective form of tourism that is gradually gaining on importance at the international touristic market. Manifestations have an important role in developing social, cultural and economic aspects of tourism both in cities and countries that organize them. Tourism is starting to get the attention that it deserves in the economy of Belgrade due to a variety of motive potentials and manifestations that take place here. Should this be valorized adequately, it would contribute in a high degree to further prosperity of tourism industry. Belgrade is rich in a large multitude of motive potentials, which makes it the center of event tourism of Balkan Peninsula. As the research done up to now has not been through enough in studying this phenomenon, we try to point out the importance of manifestations for the tourism flow and consumption in Belgrade.
